We have sequenced, assembled and annotated the Merluccius merluccius genome, combining ONT, Illumina and HiC data. The resulting genome assembly contains 21 chromosomes, has a 32 Mb scaffold N50 and comprises a total span of 715 Mb of sequence. The estimated Merqury QV is 41.6. BUSCO against the actinopterygii_odb10 database retrieves a 96.1% of complete genes. We have annotated 26,625 protein-coding genes that produce 41,543 transcripts (1.56 transcripts per gene) and encode for 37,855 unique protein products.
